Spokane, Washington — March 2026

Real estate professionals and community advocates in Eastern Washington are taking an important step toward expanding homeownership opportunities and strengthening industry collaboration across the region. Following a successful informational event held on March 7, 2026, efforts are underway to organize the Eastern Washington REALTIST board in partnership with the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB).
Founded in 1947, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers was established to provide a professional platform for Black real estate practitioners who were historically excluded from traditional real estate organizations. For nearly eight decades, NAREB has championed its mission of “Democracy in Housing,” advocating for equal access to homeownership, professional development for real estate professionals, and sustainable community growth across the country. As the organization continues to grow nationwide, Eastern Washington is now being recognized for the ongoing work taking place in the region to support equitable housing opportunities and expand pathways to property ownership.

Local professionals have been given the opportunity to organize and form an official board that will connect Eastern Washington to the national network of REALTIST members committed to advancing housing access and industry leadership. The establishment of the Eastern Washington REALTIST board represents a significant milestone for the region. By connecting local professionals with a national organization that has led housing advocacy efforts since 1947, the board will help foster collaboration among real estate professionals, community organizations, lenders, and housing advocates who are committed to expanding homeownership opportunities.
Through this initiative, the Eastern Washington REALTIST board aims to support real estate professionals through networking, education, and leadership opportunities while also working with community partners to promote sustainable homeownership throughout Eastern Washington. Community members, real estate professionals, and industry partners who are interested in learning more or becoming involved are encouraged to connect and stay engaged as the board continues to organize and grow.
